Scar Tissue (The Mindsight Series Book 1) - MC Domovitch

4.5 Stars!

ABOUT THE BOOK -
When successful model Ciara Kelly wakes up in hospital, remembering nothing of the weeks she has been missing, her only clues are the ugly words carved into her skin. According to the police she was a victim of the Cutter, a serial killer who has already murdered three women. For her protection the police and her doctors give a press conference, announcing that because her amnesia is organically caused, her memory loss is permanent. But, whether her memory returns or not is anybody’s guess.

Overnight, Ciara’s glamorous life is gone. Her scars have killed both her modelling career and her relationship with her rich boyfriend. With nothing to keep her in New York, she returns to her home town of Seattle, moves in with her sister and goes about building a new life. But when her sister lets it slip that Ciara’s memory is returning, the killer comes after her again. If Ciara is to stay alive, she must keep one step ahead of the Cutter.

MY THOUGHTS -
Author of 9 books??? Where has this author been all my life? Well the rest of her books are certainly going on my wish list!

Can I say for the thousandth time - I love books about memory loss!!!! Woooo, this was a good one. This is a gripping, edge-of-your-seat suspense all the way through till the very end. I also loved the added paranormal "mindsight". That part kind of had an "iZombie" touch.

There was excellent character development. I absolutely loved Ciara right from the first page. I love the part when she was working in the morgue doing makeup on the dead. It was not creepy at all, it was actually very interesting! And I loved David. I was really hoping something would develop between the two of them.
"I still can't believe it. It's just too terrible to believe."
"You mean that Ciara's not dead?"
Her mother threw her an irritated look. "That she's awake, of course. I couldn't care less whether she lives to a hundred, as long as she remained in a coma."
"Do you think Brent knows?"
"Of course he knows. He's the one who told me. He got a phone call from the girl's sister. He ran out of there faster than you can say boo." She pulled off her gardening gloves and toyed nervously with her diamond ring. "I was hoping she'd remain a squash for the rest of her life. But, no. She had to go and wake up."
This story kept me guessing up until the very end. I really had no idea who all was involved in the murders or attacking Ciara. Also a couple of the characters really surprised me, they weren't really what they seemed. The only good thing about this book ending is that it seems to be the beginning of a series. I'm in!

A great suspense that leaves me wanting to read more by this author!
